Mis à jour le 2026-06-03

Last updated: 2026-06-03 — Version 1.0.0

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Patry ("MapleSafe", "we", "us", "our") governing your use of the MapleSafe mobile application and related services.

By creating an account or using the application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use MapleSafe.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use MapleSafe. By accepting these Terms, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

2. Your account

You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. You must notify us promptly at the contact address below if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the MapleSafe service. In particular, you must not:

  • Use the application for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Upload content that infringes intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload content depicting illegal activity, child sexual abuse material, or other prohibited material
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or security features
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
  • Resell or sublicense access to MapleSafe
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to interact with the application
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the service

4. Subscriptions and credit packs

MapleSafe offers a free tier and Pro subscription tiers (monthly and annual), as well as one-time purchases of AI scan credit packs and AI evaluation credit packs.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store In-App Purchase or Google Play Billing, depending on your platform. Prices are displayed in your local currency before purchase. Subscription renewal is automatic until you cancel.

Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings or Google Play account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Previously billed periods are not refunded.

Credit packs (consumables)

Credit packs are non-refundable consumable in-app purchases. Once purchased, credits are added to your account balance and do not expire. Credits have no monetary value and cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash, or refunded.

Plan limits

Each tier has documented limits (scans per month/year, items per account, etc.). When a limit is reached, you may purchase a credit pack to continue, upgrade your plan, or wait for the next cycle.

Refunds

Refunds are governed by the policies of Apple App Store and Google Play, not directly by MapleSafe. You may submit refund requests through your respective store.

5. AI features — accuracy disclaimer

MapleSafe uses third-party AI models (Anthropic Claude, Google Cloud Vision) to detect objects in photos, estimate replacement values, and parse receipts. AI outputs are provided "as is" and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased.

You acknowledge that: • AI-detected object labels may be wrong or missing items. • AI-estimated replacement values are indicative ranges, not appraisals. • AI-parsed receipt data may need manual correction.

You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating any AI output before relying on it. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy of AI-generated content.

6. Insurance disclaimer

MapleSafe is a documentation tool. It is not an insurance product, not an insurance broker, and not affiliated with any specific insurer. MapleSafe does not guarantee that any inventory, receipt, or report produced by the application will be accepted by your insurer in the event of a claim. You are responsible for understanding your insurance policy and any requirements your insurer may have for inventory documentation. We strongly recommend you keep independent records and consult your insurance provider for advice.

7. Your content

You retain all rights to the photos, receipts, item details, and other content you upload to MapleSafe ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to provide the service to you (e.g., storing photos, generating reports, exporting data). We do not use Your Content for advertising and do not sell it to any third party.

8. Our intellectual property

The MapleSafe application, its source code, design, trademarks, and all related materials are owned by MapleSafe and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the application for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The MapleSafe service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of AI outputs. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MapleSafe and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, business interruption, denied insurance claims, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) twenty Canadian dollars (CAD $20).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MapleSafe and its operators from any third-party claim, demand, or damages (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any applicable law or third-party right.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time via Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or applicable law, with or without notice. Upon termination, your data will be deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Substantive changes will require you to review and re-accept the updated Terms before continuing to use the application. The latest version is always available inside the app from Profile → Terms of Service.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service shall be brought exclusively before the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Québec, Canada, except where consumer protection laws of your jurisdiction grant you a non-waivable right to bring action in your local courts.

15. Apple App Store / Google Play terms

If you obtained the application from the Apple App Store or Google Play, additional terms imposed by Apple or Google may apply. These Terms are not entered into with Apple or Google; we (MapleSafe) are solely responsible for the application. In case of conflict, the additional App Store / Google Play terms prevail to the extent required.
